survival skills finding drinking waterThe body’s composition of water shows it’s importance from a survival stand point of how vital it is needed to live, as with so many other aspects of survival all water is not consumable in it’s found state. Seawater is not consumable because its high salt content will cause your body to use the fresh water reserves trying to eliminate the salt waste, water flowing from a stream may not be potable depending on what is upstream from you flowing in your direction. Cryptosporidium and Giardia nasty water borne pathogens are present in water that causes health issues and even death if not treated this also depletes the survivor’s ability to perform the other tasks needed to survive. Understanding that water is such a vital key to our health and existence one should learn as many different methods in identifying various water sources albeit from plants or animals, capturing it from other sources, and treating those different sources if necessary nearby to insure ones absolute survival.
